(Ottawa, ON) WorldReach Software has been invited to participate in the Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) Initiative Private Sector Consultation on 2-3 December 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted by the United States of America at the Permanent Mission of the United States of America to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva, in cooperation with the Philippines.

The MICIC Initiative was launched by the United States and the Philippines to improve the ability of States and other actors, including the private sector, to prepare for and respond to the needs of migrants (non-citizens) caught in countries experiencing crises, whether as a result of conflict or natural disaster.

The final outcome of the MICIC Initiative will be a voluntary, non-binding document articulating principles, guidelines, and effective practices for States and other stakeholders to prepare for, respond to, and help migrants and communities recover from crises. These guidelines are also intended to address concerns and objectives of private sector actors as well — to minimize costs, maintain loyalty, promote CSR, and facilitate business continuity. WorldReach’s experience providing consular software services worldwide is expected to make an invaluable contribution to the development of these outcomes.
